Bingo
Bike repair: Roberts rear wheel was getting pretty wobbly, he had 3 broken spokes. In St. Cloud we got the spokes replaced, but the rim had a lot of cracks. Bliss called a bike shop in Blaine, on our route, to see if they could get a rim ordered in by Wednesday as we would be passing through. We got there right as they opened at 10 am. Spencer had the rim waiting and was able to switch everything out in about 40 minutes. They shared a parking lot with a DQ, so of course we had to stop in. A couple of LDS missionaries came into the bike shop and we offered to buy them ice cream. They said it was too early for ice cream. Silly boys!

Get stung by a bee. Yesterday Bliss got stung on the neck. We didn’t see the bug, but we assume it was a bee or wasp or something like that. You could see where the stinger went in, there was a red spot about a quarter big, and it got a little swollen. Bliss says that it would start feeling better and then randomly burn really bad again. It’s still a bit sore today. We’re still hoping we don’t get a bee stuck in our bike jerseys. Then they tend to sting you multiple times.
Get offered a place to stay: On our way into Park Falls Wisconsin about 4 pm there was a bar on the corner that had a bunch of cars. We decided to stop and get a bite to eat. A lot of the restaurants here are a combo bar and grill. There was a guy, probably Robert’s age, on the front steps drinking a can of beer. He asked a little about where we’re going and where we started. He asked where we were staying that night and we told him we were going to a campground in Park Falls. He quickly asked if we wanted to come crash at his place. That would be amazing, but he lives 7 miles in the other direction. We told him how nice he was to offer, but we had to keep moving forward. We went into the bar, it is just a bar, with a lot of people there at 4 pm on a Saturday. We just asked the bartender if she could fill our water bottles. Now we need to be offered a place to stay that won’t take us off our route!
