One of the most entertaining parts of this adventure has been our Hope Across the USA Bingo Challenge. We never know what each day will bring, but it almost always helps us check off another square!

✅ Something Falls Off the Bicycle

Well... it finally happened.

We must have left the sunscreen sitting on the back of Bliss' panniers during one of our breaks and completely forgot about it. Later, Bliss discovered the cap tucked away in her front pack, but the bottle itself had disappeared somewhere along the road.

Unfortunately, it was the expensive sunscreen!

❤️ We Help Someone

Our wonderful Warm Showers hosts in Spokane, Katy and Ethan, had picked up a huge load of plants for their yard just a few days before we arrived.

Since they had been so generous to us, it was nice to return the favor. Bliss sifted rocks out of the soil while I helped dig planting holes. It wasn't much compared to everything they did for us, but it felt good to give back.

Then today, we had another opportunity to help—this time at the scene of a motorcycle accident that happened right in front of us.

We'll save that story for next week's Bingo update.

🦌 Wildlife Report

The past several days have included riding on highways with 70 mph speed limits. We've actually felt pretty safe riding them, but sadly the wildlife hasn't been as fortunate.

We've seen far too many deer along the roadside. On Friday we passed a very fresh deer kill—there was a lot of blood, but only one leg remained.

We also spotted our first group of turkey vultures—about eight of them—feasting on another deer carcass. Ironically, on the opposite side of the road was a roadkill vulture.

We're still trying to complete the Bingo square for seeing three different wildlife species in a single day. Hopefully we'll accomplish that soon so we can stop paying so much attention to roadkill!

🥒 Another Food Donation

At Dorr Skeels Campground we met Skylar, a 17-year-old who was camping and gravel biking with his family.

He walked over carrying an enormous jar of pickles and offered one to each of us.

When you're burning thousands of calories every day, even a simple pickle feels like an amazing gift. It's another reminder of how kind and generous the people we've met across America have been.

Every day on this journey brings unexpected adventures, new friendships, and stories we never could have planned. Thanks for following along, cheering us on, and helping make this ride about so much more than bicycles.
