Get cheered on by someone

We were at Riverside Canoes where we had just finished our kayak trip down the Platte river and were getting geared up to bike when we started chatting with two young guys who were traveling by bike with a smaller amount of gear. (Surprisingly, we haven’t seen very many cycle tourists at all!)

One of them came up to Robert and asked about our trip. He then asked how old Robert was… 64. He then said “wow, I’m only 20, so that gives me hope that I’ll be doing this kind of stuff for a long time”.  They are from Milwaukee, doing a little tour of Michigan. 

We often have people stop us to ask about our ride, wish us luck, or tell us how amazing they think it is. But this one just hit differently. 

And as a preface… we do NOT like the F word. Just ask our kids. We never use it, and we don’t   like to hear it. But there is an exception to every rule. 😉

Bliss asked Robert’s friend how far they had gone, and he said, “500 miles.”

He then started cycling out of the parking lot and asked how far we had gone.

Bliss replied, “Over 2,300 miles.”

He yelled back across the parking lot:

“WHAT THE F*&@! THAT’S AMAZING!”

😂😂😂

Bliss has to admit… She felt VERY cheered on. Sometimes you just need a stranger to get excited about what you’re doing. ❤️🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

And apparently, 2,300+ miles qualifies for an exception to the F-word rule. 😂
